Snow update and December special

Well, I know there are a bunch of people who wanted a white Christmas, but do we need 2-3 feet of snow in 2 days? It started snowing yesterday and will continue until tomorrow morning. Already shoveled for 2 hours, and I will be going out again soon to do some more. So I am making the best of it by doing some artwork and doing some web stuff.

I am running a December special on 8 x 10 pet portraits of $85.00. That's $10 off the normal price. Also, you can still order jewelry (up til the 17th) and get it in time for the holiday.

Happy holidays to all, whatever you celebrate. May it be a time of peace and well-being for you and yours.

More news

I have all of my artwork and jewelry now on one website (Creative Ellements). I totally revamped the layout of the home page and redid the colors of the entire website. I think it looks fresh and appealing; I hope you do too. My other website still has soul portraits and spiritual channelings, which I will be adding to shortly.

Liberty

Finally finished the painting of Liberty. It was a challenge, but I finally came to terms with it. I have many more paintings in my head, it's just a matter of time before I get to paint them. The new works will be different, and the subject matter will vary more as well. But for now, here she is in all of her glory, enjoy. Visit my gallery page by clicking on the title of this article to view the rest of my artwork.

Getting it out there

Wow, what a week. I am so focussed on getting my act together, doing more artwork and working on marketing it. I am now listed on some gallery websites. They are: absolutearts.com, artoftheage.deviantart.com and one more pending approval. I have some photographic prints available on the deviantart site. I have added links on the sidebar so you can take a look. More will be out there shortly. I am juggling alot right now, with a regular job (working nights, ugh!) and trying to do the art and the marketing. It's getting interesting and I know I just need to stay focussed and keep the faith.

New works

I finally have some new works posted on my website. I am in the phase of getting my artwork out there, and expanding my repertoire. I have many ideas for new series of works, which I will not divulge at this time. I will keep you all in suspense until I have them posted.

What a cat shouldn't do

My cat Thor is a real sweetheart and like most cats, an adventurer. I have two containers of water that I leave out on my art table for cleaning my brushes while I am painting. My cats have never bothered my stuff before, but I recently moved my art table and easel to a different room in my house. All of a sudden, he and one of my other cats became interested in what was on my art table. He found the water container and decided to drink out of it. Not the brightest idea he has ever had. Three barfs later... all is well. I now cover the water container.

New Works: the Freedom Within

The beauty of a blank canvas is that I get to paint whatever I want. There's no one looking over my shoulder, saying paint this or that, I get to decide. In a world full of external directives, it is reassuring to know that someplace in my life I have absolute control over what happens. The conversation is internal, between me, myself and I. Despite all of the creative freedom, there is some trepidation when faced with the blank canvas, it's so lovely and white, why mess it up with all that paint? But then I do and the journey begins. Ideas shift and the painting takes shape, sometimes agonizingly, but it does take shape.

I meditate to get many of the images that I produce. This brings a different dynamic to the process of creating art. The painting is often the result of a collaboration of energies, angels and other celestial beings. Most of my new works reflect this process.

Pet portraits

I love animals and I now do pet portraits. My dog Jasper was the inspiration for my starting to do these. I love animals and I wanted to stretch myself artisticly. I try to capture their personality as well as their look. This is a picture of Buster, my sister's dog.

Inner space

Take a look at my artwork and let me what you think. Join my blog to keep current on my latest works and activities. I am a spiritual channel. My artwork is largely spiritually oriented or inspired. Although my artwork is largely abstract or impressionistic it is sometimes realistic. Depends on my mood. I like variety in life and in my work. The painting at the left is a soul portrait that I did for a client.
